Biography:
Dr. Li Xiaozhao is a professor at China University of Mining and Technology and currently serves as the Director of the National Key Laboratory of Intelligent Construction and Health Maintenance in Deep Underground Engineering, as well as the Director of Yunlong Lake Laboratory of Deep Underground Science and Engineering.
He is also the leader of the "111 Project" for Innovation and Talent Recruitment in Deep Underground Space Exploration and Development, sponsored by the State Administration of Foreign Experts Affairs and the Ministry of Education. Additionally, he is recognized as a Leading Talent in Science and Technology by the Ministry of Natural Resources and is in charge of strategic frontier research for the Ministry's Science and Technology Development Program, focusing on "Solutions for Land Space Science and Technology – Research on Underground Space Development and Utilization."
Previously, he was a professor at Nanjing University, where he served as the Director of the Institute of Underground Space and Geological Environment and as the Director of the Nanjing Strategic Emerging Industry Innovation Center. Li also holds numerous international positions, including Chair of the ACUUS-GEO Working Group on Underground Space and Geosciences, Chair of the International Conference on Exploration & Utilization of Underground Space, and Associate Editor ofDeep Underground Science and Engineering. He serves on the editorial boards of journals such asTunneling and Underground Space TechnologyandEnergy Engineering. Furthermore, he is a visiting professor at prestigious institutions like the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology (EPFL) and Nanyang Technological University (NTU) in Singapore.
